YSL set to change iconic brand!
We know it sounds more dramatic than it really is, but lets face the the facts, some brands have built up a pretty strong brand equity and a religious following from signature images that represent it, i.e the L.V. monogram, the interlocking “G’s” for Gucci, same formula used by Yves Saint Laurent with their iconic interlocking YSL signature.
A couple of hours ago YSL, under the new Directorship of Hedi Slimane announced that the iconic YSL signature will be dropped and re-branded for their new ready-to-wear collection, Saint Laurent Paris (SLP), that is the new brand that will be highlighted in future for their collections, although they say the iconic YSL signature will not be immediately dropped, but we will definitely be seeing less of it.
Your’SeLF&Company. is a bit ambiguous about the name change but we do trust that the fashion house will deliver nothing less than the fashion forward, high quality and esthetically appeasing pieces that the world loves to wear and has been wearing for decades.

Only a marriage of pattern mixed with a little colour infidelity at a fashion swinger’s party could produce a wild and rebellious collection such as this! Y’SLF thinks that’s exactly the feeling and idea the guys at UNITED ARROWS wanted to put across and they definately hit the bull’s eye with this one!!!
Commune De Paris SS2012
Y’SLF has always viewed clothing as a representation or a movement towards a certain whimsical ideal or illustration of people’s sometimes suppressed thoughts, the folks at Commune couldn’t have echoed this sentiment enough with their revolutionary SS12 collection……. at least that’s the idea we get from their photo shoot!

 Street fashion at its best! is what I would say about Guy Vernes’s collection, with no real complicated formula, he has managed to capture the magic of people’s “random creative clothing moments” and transfer it into an off the shelf everyday collection that still has that street fashion edge, the only difference between your “random creative clothing moments” and his collection is……  You will always have that magic every time you wear a Guy Vernes piece! Â
